Cornwall Cycle Club hands out the hardware.

A group of chatty and thirsty cycle loving souls came out on Friday, February 4th to celebrate the new season and hand out trophies to members for their efforts in the 2010 season.  Here are a list of deserving winners.

Unfortunately Sylvia Speck was unable to collect her Female Cyclist of the Year award.  Sylvia showed her true grit by not only setting many PB's in the time trials but by also finishing Rideau Lakes in the most miserable of conditions.

Next Keith Smith won the Touring Rider of the year award.  What can be added to Keith's accomplishment of a Coast to Coast solo, unsupported ride to promote Cancer awareness.  It speaks for itself.

Other winners that night included:

Alex Pilon accepting his Most improved Cyclist award from President Jamie McManus

Marc Dubuc accepting the award for the Tour de Keith 100 Km TT.

Tom Leroux looking very dashing accepting the Member of the Year Award.

Finally Marc Dubuc again accepting the award for the Sportif Rider of the Year.

Feb. 4th Season Kick OFF

The Start of the Battle.

Pierre Leblanc and Tom Leroux at last weekends' Brockville Cross race.  For those who are curious, Pierre kicked some butt.  Here is a short video from that race to show again how much mud packing fun cyclocross can be.

End of Year Thank You

Thanks to everyone who made this year with the club successful, fun and well attended.  The overall points winner this year was Marc Dubuc.  Congratulations to everyone who rode, raced, timed or cheered through out the season.  I've included some video of a local road race for those to get a feel of what fun it is and two videos to wet any one's appetite for Cyclocross season.  Give it a try because it is a blast.
